Justice Indeed

Are you sleeping this evening?

As I lie wide awake

Where is the justice in that?

Should I merely sit here?

And succumb to my fate

Where is the justice in that?

When I cannot close my eyes over the pain in my heart

The end seems to come prior to the days start

The answer is erased before the question appears

Where is the justice in that?

Days turn to months which welcome the years

Where is the justice in that?

Patience the only solution I fear

Where is the justice in fact?

Reality so easily impossible to embrace

The truth seems the one thing farthest from today

Where is the justice I need?

Or is Justice nothing better than how its perceived

Skillfully Seduced by a Star

The clouds have all but drifted away

The sweet evening rain has cleansed the day

The sun is at rest

The world is at peace

And now one lonely star is trying to entice me

Begging me to follow as it leads my life

Skillfully seducing my imagination and mind

Intriguingly inviting to say the least

A simple distraction in my time of need

Then for a moment I see greater depths

Could there be more to the sky then this star suggests

Not one, two, or ten but a million at least

Now a million little stars are trying to seduce me

Climax is approaching the hour is near

For a rich deep dark sky blankets my fears

Mirrored Hope

I don’t want to wait my whole life to love you

Searching for the ways

Perhaps a visual will do

Let me count the days

Something like 45 years now, Give or take a few

Less than perfect

Mistakes more often

Then standing by the water

I realize the ocean has its way

Sustaining life to perfection

It inspires me to say

All the words I couldn’t grasp until today

But what if it’s a moment more fleeting than the past

Could I embrace this Grace, Mercy and Love at last?

I have so many dreams, visions and hopes

Tucked so far away inside of me

45 years of emotion can hardly count indeed

I don’t want to waste the moment

In a loveless life

Just to exist

I want passion and purpose

Some sort of fulfillment

Never wanting more than contentment

Humbly I say

I don’t want to wait forever to love you

When I have today
